BLM Protests

Mal Warwick Donordigital stands in solidarity with the national protests following the murder of George Floyd, and against the systemic inequities that have led to the brutality toward and killing of unarmed people of color by law enforcement.

The current crisis is merely the latest expression of racism that has been directed at African Americans and other people of color for hundreds of years. American prosperity is grounded in no small measure on the labor, both unpaid and grossly underpaid, of the descendants of slaves and of immigrants from around the world.

For too long, communities of color have been subjected to unequal treatment and punishment by law enforcement. George Floyd and Breonna Taylor are just two of the thousands and thousands of people who have lost their lives in police interactions. And just a few of the millions who have been brutalized or unjustly sentenced in the US justice system.

We hope that our nation has reached a tipping point and that we are ready to join together to begin the process of reform and reconciliation. The nation’s police forces urgently need to be culled of blatantly racist officers, trained in empathetic methods of policing, and reorganized to work collaboratively with communities of color under credible leadership. We urge local leaders across the country to stand up and work for this change as national leadership has failed us in this crisis.

As a company founded on the vision of supporting nonprofit organizations and political causes working to make the world a better place, we remain steadfast in our belief that racism, bigotry and discrimination against any group of people is an impediment to our shared progress. We are proud to work with dozens of organizations committed to making the world work for everyone. And we are humbled by our staff who not only bring their passion and commitment to their work but who are personally active in this fight.
